These two utilities allow you to translate resources back and forth between ICON and FICN formats. FirstClass uses FICN resources, which are structurally identical to ICON resources but which cannot be graphically edited by ResEdit.
You can change all FICN resources into equivalent ICON resources -- same name, same ID -- with FICN to ICON. Just open the application and choose the file you want to convert. To stop converting files, click the Cancel button. You can now easily edit these resources using ResEdit's ICON editor.
Conversely, you can change all ICON resources into equivalent FICN resources with ICON to FICN.
Be careful -- if they encounter duplicate resource IDs these utilities will overwrite the original resources. This will only happen if you already have ICON resources in a file on which you're using FICN to ICON, or if you already have FICN resources in a file on which you're using ICON to FICN. To avoid problems, I suggest that you use these utilities on ICON-only or FICN-only files.
